Lonell Rivers

Master Tailor & Designer

Lonell is a native of Oklahoma City, Okla.  Lonell has been in the retail clothing tailoring business since 1977.  Lonell was inspired at an early age by his late grandmother, Nell Faye Sampy who was an exceptional seamstress.  Lonell began his formal tailoring training at the age of fifteen while attending Douglass High School. 

 

He took tailoring for three years through the school’s vocational department and received his training under the late Leroy Alexander.  After finishing high school Lonell attended college part time with his focus on commercial art in fashion merchandising.  Lonell worked full time after high school during tailoring for a retail clothing store while being mentored by Mr. Charles E. Woods Director over the Alteration department for 10 years before relocating to Atlanta Georgia in 1987. 

 

Lonell has worked for many clothing retail stores in the Atlanta area.  Lonell established Royalties of Rivers Custom Tailoring and Alterations in 2006.  Lonell has tailored alterations for many studios in the Atlanta area.  He has been responsible for delivering garments in alterations and in custom clothing wear to clients not just in the Atlanta area but throughout the United States of America.

 

  Lonell has also been responsible for rendering his tailoring services for well known public personalities, such as Mr. Tyler Perry, Mr. Steve Harvey, and Dr. Bernice King.  Lonell is married to Gwendolyn Rivers his high school sweetheart of 47 years who is also the office manager for Royalties of Rivers.  Lonell and Gwendolyn has two daughters, and three grandchildren.
